Baby Makes Four

The last time that I photographed this lovely family, Esme was only two months old. Now she's almost three and her baby brother is two months. My, how time flies! Esme's Mom + Dad are super cool parents who both work in creative fields so it's only a given that Esme + her brother are super cool kids. I loved Esme's Stella McCartney sweater and almost wished that it came in my size!

I loved that Esme was playing with buildings, considering her Dad photographs architecture for a living!

Phoenix Turns One!

I have been photographing Phoenix and his family at lot over the past year or so. What fun it has been! Portraits are such an important thing, especially when the kids are so young. They grow and change quickly! Capturing all of the stages along the way is so precious. Their photo journey began with maternity portraits done last November. The next session took place when Phoenix was six months old. The last session was a family one done in the Distillery District this fall. From all of these sessions, I designed an adorable Accordion Mini Brag book!

Most recently I traveled to their new home to do a "Smash the Cake" portrait session to celebrate Phoenix's first birthday. The li'l man had a lot of fun with the cake to say the least!

Phoenix is turning into quite the little sportsman! Look at the way he holds that hockey stick.

Alex Turns One!

Caroline + Vav have appeared on my blog a couple times - at their wedding in June 2008 and at their first family portrait session when Alex was just a wee baby. Recently I met all three of them again for a new family portrait session to celebrate Alex's first birthday! We had a great autumn day to do the session and Alex was proudly showing his first attempts at walking. I can hardly believe how big he is getting!

Miles Jones

Miles Jones. Emcee/Producer extraordinaire. Runaway Jones (I'm sure you've seen the logos everywhere in Toronto!). Recently one of his songs was chosen for a CSI episode (awesome!) and even better, one was chosen by CTV for the Olympics. Check out his tunes on MySpace.

Z's Bat Mitzvah!

I adore photographing Bat/Bar Mitzvahs because I adore thirteen year olds. It is such a fun age to capture. Z's big day was held recently at the Faculty Club at University of Toronto. The event included great food, dancing to a fabulous live band and lots of karaoke!

The Beauties. Fantastic band signed with Six Shooter Records. Currently recording their first album. Regular Sunday nighters at the lovely Dakota Tavern. I like these guys.

The Soans!

I originally met the Soans when photographing his sister's wedding two years ago where li'l A was the flower girl. It was great to see them again and to see how A has grown! We met on that perfect autumn day in October at Edwards Gardens in Toronto to do a family portrait session. I love how the images turned out!

Family Portraits at Edwards Gardens

A couple of weeks ago we had THE PERFECT AUTUMN DAY. The sun was shining, the temperature was warm and the leaves were glowing! It made for a great day of portrait-making at Edwards Gardens in Toronto. My first family for the day was the Joans. Their little one just recently celebrated her first birthday so it was a great time to do a family portrait, complete with their dog. I love how Li'l A reacted when we put her in the leaves!

Li'l Twins!

Perhaps you remember back in March when I did a newborn portrait session of Sophia + Charlotte? Well the li'l ladies came into my studio a couple of weeks ago for their six month portrait session. Are they ever growing quickly! I love how they already have their own personalities and I cannot wait to photograph them again!

Family Portraits!

This time of year is perfect for family portraits - the air is a little more crisp, the leaves are turning brilliant colours and the holidays are around the corner! Family portraits make a great gift. Last week I met Jenn, Jimmy + li'l Phoenix in one of their favourite neighbourhoods to do a family portrait session. I cannot believe how big Phoenix is getting and I loved that his coat matched his Daddy's!

A Big Part of my Heart...

...lies with this little one - the best niece in the world, Li'l K. Finding the balance in life between work and family/friends can often be challenging but I know the importance of making the time for them (especially when they are so young!). Li'l K and I try to have a sleepover every six weeks or so. After I pick her up from school, we usually have a Skype date with Auntie Em in Mexico and then a dance party in the evening. On this particular day last week, we had an awesome day together that included live music at the First Canadian Place, dinosaurs at the ROM and a mini photo shoot at the studio.
