This smiling little lady came into my studio a couple of weeks ago with her parents for a portrait session. I could not believe how easygoing and happy she was! I am told that she is like this all the time - talk about perfect little baby!

Melanie + Chris + Baby Edan

Look at this little studmuffin! In eighteen years, the ladies had better watch out for Edan, aka future heartbreaker!

As some of you know, I am the eldest of three sisters. As a kid, I always had the dream of having an older sister. My best friend, Wendy, was also one of three girls in her family, except that she was lucky in that she had both a younger and older sister. Meet Melanie, Wendy's older sister (and the one that I sometimes pretended was mine)! When I found out that Melanie + Chris were expecting, I was very excited for them! I know that they are going to make great parents to little Edan! I cannot wait to see my little "nephew" grew into his own little person. Who is he going to be when he grows up? A firefighter like Daddy?

Jenn + Mike + Laurier!

You may recognize Jenn + Mike from their Trash the Dress session that we did in September. In November they came into my studio for a family portrait to be used for their Christmas card. By family, I mean the two of them and the cutest puppy ever, Ms. Laurier!

The Mason Family

I was excited when Stefanie from Convert Marketing Inc. contacted me about booking a portrait session for her sister and her adorable children! For the session, they came to my studio in early November. We first did some "standard" studio shots before heading outside. We got lucky with the weather - it was warm and there were still autumn leaves about. Here are some of my favourite images from their session.

Stacey + Josh are Married!

My lovely friends, Stacey + Josh, got married on the best day of the year, September 20th, aka my birthday! Theirs was an intimate wedding filled with lots of Simpsons references that took place in British Columbia. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to attend the wedding but upon their return, I made sure to schedule a post-wedding portrait session with them. We met one evening in their 'hood and took photos along the ever-so-cool Ossington Avenue. Here are some of my favourites! Congratulation Stacey + Josh - you two were made for one another!

Carolyn + Mike + L'il Maddy, Part 2

Carolyn, Mike + Maddy came to my studio a couple of weeks ago for their second portrait session as part of their "Baby Bundle". Maddy has grown a lot in the past few months. She's now sitting up and smiling away! My third portrait session with her will be for her first birthday in the spring!

The Kemp Family

I met the adorable Kemp family at the end of October to do a portrait session. I was initially worried that we had missed the autumn colours but luckily, our location in Newmarket had plenty of leaves!

Eva + Mike + Baby!

Back in the day I photographed Eva + Mike's wedding. They appeared again at Heather + Strahan's wedding in 2006 and most recently at Yvette + Al's wedding when Eva had a "baby bump". I was very excited to meet their wee one and was waiting patiently for Eva + Mike to book their portrait session with me! I knew that I was coming as Eva's co-workers bought a gift certificate from me as a Baby Shower gift near the beginning of the year. Finally they called and we booked the session when their li'l guy was about seven months - perfect timing to capture those first smiles!

Last August I photographed Karen + Paul's awesome wedding! A year later, they were graced with their son - these two waste no time! I was very excited to go to their home a couple of weeks ago to meet the new li'l guy and to do some family portraits!

Jenn + Jim are Having a Baby!

I met Jenn + Jim a couple of weeks ago at their awesome downtown condo for a maternity portrait session. I am so excited to meet the little guy! Jenn + Jim have got to be one of the nicest couples ever and I know that they are going to make awesome parents for l'il Phoenix. Congratulations Jenn + Jim!

Little Visitors

I had a couple of little visitors come by the studio this week to distract me from my work. Luckily they are pretty cute and allowed me to take a few photos! Notice L'il K's T&T shirt picked up by Auntie when I photographed Andrea + Ravi's wedding there in August. And yes, it was purely by chance that these two had practically matching outfits!

Isabela + Rich (+ Branca)

Isabela + Rich are a super fun couple who were up for anything when I met them for a portrait session in September. Being that they are both photographers themselves, they actually scouted some locations ahead of time for us to use for the session. They also brought along their very beautiful husky, Branca for a few photos. Isabela is a wild and had troubles focussing on the photography (instead of just laughing and being goofy). The best moment was when Rich was trying to calm her down and said, "Just work with me baby!". I love it! You two are awesome!

Something Different

I had a wild bunch in my studio at the end of August. They came in celebration of Rainer + Trevor's third anniversary and the goal was to create some beautiful portraits of this great group of individuals. Did we ever have a lot of fun shooting - bring on the bubbly!

Carolyn + Mike + L'il Maddy!

I originally met Carolyn + Mike a couple of years ago when I had an engagement session with them on a snowy winter afternoon. Carolyn contacted me in the spring saying that they had had a baby and wanted to book a session with me. In August they came into my studio for a portrait session and I got to meet the lively Maddy! She is absolutely adorable. Carolyn + Mike booked my "Baby Bundle" so keep your eyes out for more photos of this little family in the coming months!

Jen + Mike Trash the Dress!

I met Jen + Mike last week at Cherry Beach in Toronto for a post-wedding portrait session, better known as "Trash the Dress". Jen + Mike were married in the winter and felt that they did not get enough photos of themselves at the wedding (let alone the weather put a hinder on that!). I was not their wedding photographer but I did photograph Jen before the wedding so I was excited when she called me to book this session! Mike gets a gold star for being such an awesome husband: Jen did not actually tell him what they were doing when they headed to Cherry Beach. When they arrived he asked why there was a photographer wandering around (me!) and she had to laugh and tell him that I was there for them! He was all game to do the session and we had a lot of fun shooting.

Moments that Shine

Susan at Moments that Shine is awesome! She is such a fun and creative person and is definitely Wedding Planner supreme. She is also as obsessed about her blog as I am which is one of the many reasons that we have become friends. When she asked me a couple of weeks ago if I would photograph her and her associates, I immediately said, "Of course!". I had the girls meet me in my neighbourhood where we wandered around doing the portraits. Here are some of my favourites from the session.

Carla + Stephen + William

I love it when my clients have babies! It is so fun to meet them and to see how they turn out. I was very excited when Carla emailed me early in the year to say that they were pregnant! I had photographed Carla + Stephen's wedding in May 2007 so these two move fast! William is a perfect mix of the two and has the cutest little giggle ever.

Save Us From Our House

Before I left on my vacation, I photographed the last families for Season Four of the television show Save Us From Our House. These families were great so it was a nice way to finish off the season! You can check out Save Us From Our House every Thursday at 9:30pm on the W Network.

Laura + Rob + ... Sophie!

Some of you may remember back in January when I had a maternity portrait session with Laura + Rob. This past Friday I met up with them again but this time, three month old Sophie was ready to have her photo taken! Sophie is adorable and I know that Laura + Rob are going to be awesome parents to her. Their home is definitely going to be filled with laughter!

Andrea + Duncan

Really the title of this posting should be Andrea + Duncan + Taz + Gucci! This past Sunday I met up with Andrea + Duncan and their little fur babies for a portrait session at Samuel Smith Park in Toronto. The weather was gorgeous and the location was great for photographs - you would hardly believe that we were in Toronto if it were not for the CN Tower in the background! It was a very fun shoot for me and we got some great laughs in! Here are a bunch of my favourite images from the session.

Ms. Patricia Duffy

Some of you faithful blog readers may remember a year ago when I photographed the lovely Patricia Duffy at a recording studio as she recorded an album of her own original tunes. I then photographed her in December at Cherry Beach with the goal of creating some portraits for said album cover. Last week I was surprised to come home to a mystery package sitting at my front door. Inside I found a copy of the Patricia's disc, Please Don't Tell Me. The music is amazing and I listened to the album about three times that day. I love it! I am very excited to see her play with her trio at her official CD release on Wednesday at Gate 403 (403 Roncesvalles Avenue in Toronto). If you are looking for something to do between 5pm and 8pm, please do come by!

Save Us From Our House

I began working again with the production team for the tv show Save Us From Our House this past week. We are now working on season four of the show. I had three lovely families in my studio for our first session and I must say, these were some of the best families that I have photographed! Everyone was a lot of fun and we got some great portraits because of that.

Save Us From Our House

As some of you know, for the past while I have been working with a production company on a television show called Save Us From Our House. It is a dubbed a "relationship-renovation reality show" and for it, I photograph the families in my studio. The photography shoot is filmed and it then appears at the beginning and end of every episode. It is a pretty hilarious job and I get to meet some great families through it! Here are some of my favourite images from the last episodes that we shot. We will resume filming in March so stayed tuned for season four. In the meantime, you can check out season three of Save Us From Our House every Thursday at 9:30pm on the W Network.

A New Li'l Family!

Back in the summer of 2004 I photographed Sonia + Kevin's wedding. Their wedding is definitely one of my favourite weddings that I have ever photographed. It took place at the beautiful Sunnyside Pavillion on the Lakeshore. Instead of the traditional centrepieces, they had pinwheels on the tables that turned as the soft breeze from the lake blew through the room. They also had their guests sitting at long dining tables that made everything seem that much more intimate. Not only was their wedding fabulous but they as a couple are incredible. So when Sonia emailed me in December saying that any day now they would be graced with their first child, I was incredibly excited to see them again and to meet the wee one. This past weekend I went to their house to photograph their li'l one month old baby girl! She is a perfect little baby who I know is going to grow up to do great things - how could she not with such great parents?! Congratulations Sonia + Kevin!!

Ms. Patricia Duffy

Some of you blog readers may remember back in May when I photographed the lovely Patricia Duffy in a recording studio. She has been working hard on putting together her jazz album which is nearing completion. One of the final tasks still needed to be done: the album cover! On a cold December's day we met at Cherry Beach in Toronto for a portrait session. We were looking for a moody landscape and I think that we found it! Meet Ms. Leigh-Anne

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of shooting Leigh-Anne in the studio. I was excited when she contacted me saying that she needed to get some headshots done as soon as possible. In May I had had the pleasure of photographing her daughter's bat mitzvah so I was looking forward to seeing Leigh-Anne again. She is one of those people who has such good energy about her that it lifts you up for the rest of the day! She is also one smart lady and has been nominated for the Globe & Mail's "Top 40 Under 40"! Here's hoping she wins!

Meet the lovely Megan Pais, make-up artist extraordinaire! Megan works with me on my boudoir marathon sessions and makes the ladies look absolutely beautiful! She is also quite the entrepreneur, soon to be extremely busy with her new company.
