Stacey + Josh are Married!

My lovely friends, Stacey + Josh, got married on the best day of the year, September 20th, aka my birthday! Theirs was an intimate wedding filled with lots of Simpsons references that took place in British Columbia. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to attend the wedding but upon their return, I made sure to schedule a post-wedding portrait session with them. We met one evening in their 'hood and took photos along the ever-so-cool Ossington Avenue. Here are some of my favourites! Congratulation Stacey + Josh - you two were made for one another!

Laramie + Marc Are Getting Married

I met Laramie + Marc for an engagement portrait session back in September. I have known Marc for a long time as we went to middle and high school together in Port Hope. His Mom was also the french teacher at the middle school. When he contacted me a number of months ago about photographing his wedding, I was excited! Laramie + Marc are a cute couple and I cannot wait for their wedding in March!

Shayne + Howard are Getting Married!

I had to get Shayne + Howard's engagement portraits up on my blog quick as they are getting married - tomorrow! No, I am not slacking on my blog posts - their engagement portrait session took place a mere ten days before their wedding!

I do not know many couples who could live, work, play together and still survive but Shayne + Howard manage to pull it off! They finish each other's sentences, tell the same stories and are generally, perfectly in love! For their engagement portrait session we met at their home in the Beach in Toronto and wandered around their neighbourhood to do the photos. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding tomorrow that is taking place at the always awesome Carlu!

Isabela + Rich (+ Branca)

Isabela + Rich are a super fun couple who were up for anything when I met them for a portrait session in September. Being that they are both photographers themselves, they actually scouted some locations ahead of time for us to use for the session. They also brought along their very beautiful husky, Branca for a few photos. Isabela is a wild and had troubles focussing on the photography (instead of just laughing and being goofy). The best moment was when Rich was trying to calm her down and said, "Just work with me baby!". I love it! You two are awesome!

Erin + Mark Are Getting Married

I met Erin + Mark on Saturday morning for an engagement portrait session. I am glad that we met early because it was hot, hot, hot! The plan was to meet at Spadina House and from there wander down Bathurst Street to Bloor. I was super excited for this portrait session since Bathurst is my 'hood and I have always wanted to photograph there. The shoot went awesome and included one outfit change and lots of smooching!

Sara + Mark Engagement Photos

I like Sara + Mark. The only problem is: their wedding is so far away! I want to photograph it now! I met up with them on Tuesday evening at the Toronto Music Garden. Since Sara + Mark got engaged while on a boat tour in the harbour, they wanted some portraits around the lake. The Toronto Music Garden is perfect for this because it is right at the lake but still offers a variety of areas to do photos in. I am counting down until October when they get married!!

Andrea + Ravi (and Daniela!!)

Andrea + Ravi are an awesome couple! I originally met them back at Neena + James' wedding where Andrea was a bridesmaid. When Andrea + Ravi began planning their wedding they contacted me to see if I was available to travel with them to Trinidad for their August wedding. Of course, I said I would be there!

Andrea + Ravi are a couple that are absolutely made for each other. They met at University of Toronto where they both studied engineering and their relationship blossomed from there. With Andrea's daughter Daniela, they are an awesome little engineering/partially vegetarian family who are a blast to hang out with!

I cannot wait to spend a week with them in Trinidad for their wild wedding that will include: two cultures (Latin American and Indo-Trinidadian), two ceremonies (Catholic and Hindu), two young engineers and one ten year old daughter!

Andrea + Duncan

Really the title of this posting should be Andrea + Duncan + Taz + Gucci! This past Sunday I met up with Andrea + Duncan and their little fur babies for a portrait session at Samuel Smith Park in Toronto. The weather was gorgeous and the location was great for photographs - you would hardly believe that we were in Toronto if it were not for the CN Tower in the background! It was a very fun shoot for me and we got some great laughs in! Here are a bunch of my favourite images from the session.

Engagement Holga

Do you remember the engagement session that I did back in February with Pati + Marcus? I recently got the film back from the photos that I took on my Holga during their session. Here is my favourite image from it. You never know what you are going to get with double exposures!

Pati + Marcus are Getting Married

Pati + Marcus are an awesome couple who are a lot of fun. They love to travel, they love the city, they love the Caribbean and they love being photographed. Exactly my kind of people! They got engaged on New Years Day and are currently planning their May 2009 wedding. On Saturday I met up with them for an engagement portrait session. We made a marathon of it by first starting at the Distillery District in Toronto for some urban backdrops. We then headed to my studio which is located nearby and then finished off the session at one of the best Caribbean restaurants in Toronto, The Real Jerk. I have way too many favourite images from their session - I swear that I have tried my best to narrow them down!

Marcus is Trinidadian to we had to include the Trini flag somehow!

Claire + Roy

Claire + Roy have got to be one of the most adorable couples ever! I had so much fun during their engagement portrait session on Saturday! We met at the Harbourfront Centre for some ice skating fun and then wandered around that area, stopping at every nook to do some portraits. The weather was awful and rainy but I put my camera in a plastic bag and we made the most of it. My feeling is that it could always be worst. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in August!

Wendy + Ben

On Wednesday I met Wendy + Ben at University of Toronto to do an engagement portrait session. These two are getting married at the end of December so it was about time that we did the session! We had some fun wandering around the campus, stopping here and there for photos. Although it was fairly windy out, the weather was fabulous and it was hard to believe that it was the end of October! Wendy + Ben are a fabulous couple and I can tell that they have a lot of fun together. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding!

Deborah Ann + Mark :: Engagement Photos

On Monday evening I met Deborah Ann and Mark at the Distillery District in Toronto to do their engagement photos. We had originally scheduled the session for a week earlier but rain forced us to postpone it. I am glad that we did it on Monday because the weather was beautiful and the sun was golden! Deborah Ann and Mark were a fun couple for me to photograph. They had all of the "looks" from serious to loving to laughing! I cannot wait until their wedding in September! I know that we are going to have a blast!

Deborah Ann and Mark got engaged at the CN Tower so it was important to get some shots with the Tower in the background.

Lindsay & Iain

Linday and Iain are a hilarious couple and I really enjoyed photographing them. I met them on Saturday in Kensington Market to do some nice portraits. There was only one thing - Lindsay did not actually know that we were scheduled to do the shoot. Iain had booked the session with me and had kept it a surprise from her! Luckily Lindsay is naturally a gorgeous girl so no real primping was required for the shoot. We had a fun afternoon wandering around Kensington Market and Spadina Avenue.

April & James Engagement Photos!

April and James are one of my most favourite couples that I have photographed - they are simply awesome! They would not stop laughing the entire shoot. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am quite the giggler but if you thought I was bad, you should definitely meet James! April has the most perfect profile and gorgeous blue eyes - I am totally jealous! Our original plan was to meet on Saturday at Edwards Gardens to do the portrait session but since CP24 was calling for a sixty percent chance of rain, we decided to play it safe and do the session at Allan Gardens. It all worked out beautifully (and of course we did not feel a drop of rain!).

I love the way April is looking at James in the first photo and how they crack up by the second frame!

Meet Jenn & Pat

Jenn and Pat are an adorable couple (sorry Pat but it's true!). Individually they are awesome and together they are amazing. They live in a cool loft just off of Queen Street West where they work as artists and djs. On Monday we took a tour of their neighbourhood and did a photo shoot. We began at their loft and then headed to the train tracks before hitting the street.

Carla & Stephen Engagement Photos!

On Sunday I met Carla and Stephen for an engagement portrait session. Since their wedding is quickly approaching on May 19th it was time to take these photos! The sky was threatening rain so we decided to do the session at Allan Gardens in Toronto to give us the option of doing shots inside if need be. The rain held out and we had a beautiful blanket of bright clouds which made for perfect even lighting (my dream come true!). Carla and Stephen are a wonderful couple and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding!


To take this image I was laying on the ground and balancing my reflector on my legs to pop more light into their faces. I think that Carla and Stephen thought I was a little crazy but I got the shot!

Julia & Blair Engagement Photos!

It is finally winter in Toronto! We have snow on the ground and the temperature has dropped below zero celsius. On Sunday morning I met Julia & Blair at the outdoor ice rink at Harbourfront Centre to do their engagment photos. Julia is a special person to me whom I have known for a number of years. I remember when her and Blair first started dated and I have watched their relationship grow since then. They now have their own house and are getting married in February! Julia was particularily giggly for the shoot and it was hard to get both of them to look at the camera but they had absolutely no troubles looking at each other! I cannot wait to photograph their wedding!

Amy & Neil :: Engagement Photos, July 5th

On Wednesday I met Amy, Neil and their puppy Hachiko at Bellwoods Park in Toronto to take some engagement photographs. Bellwoods is a great location for this as there are many different spots within the park to take photos. We had a perfect day of sun and cloud which made the colours really pop in the images. I cannot wait until their wedding which is taking place on October 8th at Liberty Grand!

Engagement Photos

Despite the crazy weather that we had in Toronto this past weekend, I photographed two engagement shoots for two wonderful couples. The first photography shoot was of Sarah and Robert and was done at St. George's Golf & Country Club. Their wedding will take place almost exactly one year after these photographs were taken in February 2007. Here are a couple of my favourites from the shoot:
The second engagement shoot was done at Allan Gardens of Olga and Peter. Their wedding is a mere three months away on April 29th. Allan Gardens is one of my favourite locations to photograph during the winter.
