New Boudoir

How gorgeous does this bride look?! I know that her fiancé is going to LOVE her boudoir photos when he receives them as a wedding gift!

Arielle & Noah's B'Nai Mitzvah Par-tay!

I had such a blast photographing Arielle & Noah's B'Nai Mitzvah par-tay! It was truly over-the-top and I loved every bit of it! Their reception was held at the amazing Granite Club on Bayview in Toronto. The theme for the night was the Oscars with everything all glam-ed up. Arielle & Noah are two popular kids - there was about 120 twelve- and thirteen-year olds running around the room. They were such a fun bunch and knew all of the moves and lyrics to every song. The entertainers for the evening were the Magen Brothers and they did a fabulous job of making sure nobody sat in their chairs for too long!

My Photo Exhibit - Mexican Holgas

I currently have an exhibit of my work at the Queen Mother Cafe at 208 Queen Street West in Toronto. This show is of my Mexican Holgas and it has been two years in the making! If you are ever in that neighbourhood, please stop by the Queen Mother and tell me what you think!

An excerpt from the description of the exhibit:
Mexican Holgas is a project that Jessica has been working on for the past two years. Her frequent visits to Mexico have enabled her to travel from coast to coast of the country always with her Holga camera in tow. The Holga camera enables her to create images that give the viewer a sense of nostalgia and familiarity to the places in them.

Long Weekend

This past weekend was a long one for us Canadians in honour of Queen Victoria's birthday. On Saturday I photographed Arielle & Noah's B'Nai Mitzvah. Sunday we headed out of town to my Mom's place near Brighton for a mini break from the city. As tradition goes, the May long weekend is always cold and wet. This year, Mother Nature held her usual ground - although the moody skies did make for great photos!

Arielle & Noah :: B'Nai Mitzvah!

I love shooting Bar & Bat Mitzvahs! The energy of the kids is always a lot of fun to capture. This past weekend I met up with Adrielle and Noah at the Beth Torah in Toronto for their B'Nai Mitzvah rehearsal. The sibling duo decided that they wanted to go on this journey together which I think is fabulous. On Saturday I am photographing their big party so stay tuned for the photos from it!

The parents watch on... Somehow their Dad managed to find a yamaka of his favourite football team - Manchester United (and yes, they won that day - best of England!).

Of course we had to do a few photos of Mom & Dad. Four kids later and they're still going strong! ;)

Andrea + Ravi (and Daniela!!)

Andrea + Ravi are an awesome couple! I originally met them back at Neena + James' wedding where Andrea was a bridesmaid. When Andrea + Ravi began planning their wedding they contacted me to see if I was available to travel with them to Trinidad for their August wedding. Of course, I said I would be there!

Andrea + Ravi are a couple that are absolutely made for each other. They met at University of Toronto where they both studied engineering and their relationship blossomed from there. With Andrea's daughter Daniela, they are an awesome little engineering/partially vegetarian family who are a blast to hang out with!

I cannot wait to spend a week with them in Trinidad for their wild wedding that will include: two cultures (Latin American and Indo-Trinidadian), two ceremonies (Catholic and Hindu), two young engineers and one ten year old daughter!

Jennifer + Joe :: May 3rd, 2008

Jen + Joe are an awesome couple who really love one another. All you have to say to Joe is, "Jen" and he starts tearing up - he loves her so much! This is a couple that after their first date, they immediately knew that they were meant for one another.

They are also a couple who really know how to throw a party! Their wedding was held at The Richmond in Toronto and had only the best of food, wine and music. I know that everyone in attendance had a fabulous time! Their request to me for the photography was: lots of candids and very little posing. Congratulations Jen + Joe!!

Laura + Rob + ... Sophie!

Some of you may remember back in January when I had a maternity portrait session with Laura + Rob. This past Friday I met up with them again but this time, three month old Sophie was ready to have her photo taken! Sophie is adorable and I know that Laura + Rob are going to be awesome parents to her. Their home is definitely going to be filled with laughter!

Happy Monday, cupcake!

Happy Monday! The past three days have been FILLED with photography for me! Friday I photographed four families, three of which were for the tv show Save Us From Our House. Saturday I photographed Jennifer + Joe's lovely wedding. Sunday I hung up my show (details to come soon!) and then met up with Ravi + Andrea for an engagement portrait session. Stayed tuned for LOTS of new images!
