Becky & Chris' Wedding :: January 6th, 2007

This past Saturday was my first wedding of 2007. You would hardly know that it was January in Toronto because the weather was so unusually warm. I am sure that when Becky and Chris began planning their big day they had hoped for a lovely snowy winter wedding As a kid I remember there always being a big snowstorm during this first week back after the holidays and school would be cancelled for at least a day.

When I was first asked about photographing Becky & Chris' wedding, a man named Jim called me. He sounded very mysterious on the phone, asking me a ton of details about the services that I offer which was making me wonder just who I was speaking to. Finally he just came out and said who he really was, "Well actually, I am the man of honour." I loved it! Apparently everyone else that he told this to had laughed and basically the conversations had ended there. My response was, "Great, let's set up a meeting so that you and Becky can see my portfolios."

Upon first meeting of Becky and her man of honour, I was really looking forward to photographing the wedding. I was also looking forward to meeting the groom Chris who had left his fiance and the man of honour in charge, as well as her parents who live in my hometown of Port Hope. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Old Mill in Toronto. The ceremony was a beautiful candlelit one. At dusk we took some photographs outside in the courtyard before the reception began. There were many personal touches that made their wedding extra special including the favours which were mittens knit by Becky's Mom and cookies baked by Chris' Dad. Congratulations to Becky & Chris!

Becky's "something blue" were her initials that her Mom stitched on the inside of her dress.

Fantastic! Congrats guys! You look so happy!

And phototographer Jessica: you've really presented a "real" natural couple loving the day! SOooooo much better than stuffy wedding pics. And you've maintained that mischevious spark in Becky's eye!

We'll keep you in mind... other events are on the horizon!

Cheers!
