Latest Boudoir

On Saturday I photographed two different boudoir sessions. Here are some photos from the first one. This bride wanted to have the photos to give to her fiance as a wedding gift. The final product will be an Asuka album.

Mexico, Part 2

For the first weekend that I was in Mexico we travelled to two different states: Tlaxcala and Puebla. For each of these states we visited their capitals which are called the same name.

Tlaxcala is the smallest state in Mexico. In the capital we visited the largest market that I have ever been to and ate lots of delicious food that was made before our eyes. We spent the night and ate breakfast the next morning outside at a restaurant in the main square of the town that had a view of the mountains.

We then travelled to some pyramids in the state of Tlaxcala before heading to Puebla. Puebla was a much larger city with all the hustle and bustle that comes with it. There were clowns, people selling hellium balloons and the sun was hot for this pale Canadian skin.

Mexico, Part 1

My sister Emily lives in Mexico City. She moved there six months ago with her boyfriend who is from there. I visited her there for the past two weeks; exploring her new home and culture. Most of my time was spent in the City - in the area called San Mateo where they live, in Santa Fe where they work and along Paseo de la Reforma. The city is bustling with energy and enough cars to take anyone wherever they dream. You risk your life every time you cross the street because stoplights are irrelevant and crosswalks are not apparent. It is a challenge to live there but I can see why she chose it.

I left my digital camera at home for this trip and instead opted to take three different film cameras. It was fun to shoot as I used to and I have been eagerly waiting for the film to develop in order to see what came from my clicking shutter. Of course, I took a ton of photos so bear with me as I narrow it down to post an appropriate number here. For the first batch, here are some photos from around Emily's home in San Mateo.

Babies!

Katerra and Chanel came by the studio on Saturday afternoon with their Moms for a little photo shoot. Katerra was not that happiest baby - it was a big day for the little girl but she still worked some of her magic. Chanel was all smiles and as always, was concerned when her little friend cried.

Portrait of Ben

Ben is an architectural photographer at A-Frame . While I live for photographing people, he loves shooting photos of buildings and interior spaces. He asked me to do a portrait of himself to be used in an upcoming magazine of which one of his photos will grace the cover. The editor of the magazine asked for something a little different than the usual headshot. I think that laughing image will do just right!

The Hignett Family!

I first met the Hignett's on Thanksgiving weekend when I photographed Amy & Neil's wedding. Michael is Neil's brother and his wife Andrea emailed me soon after the wedding to do a family portrait. On Saturday the family of five came down to the studio for the portrait session. The kids had some fun running around the studio and we got some great shots!

Sarah & Robert's Wedding :: November 3rd, 2006

Sarah & Robert's wedding took place on Friday at the Pavilion Royale on Dixie Road in Mississauga. The photography started with the girls getting ready and ended when Sarah and Robert left the reception in their SUV limo to head off to their honeymoon! Sarah wore a gorgeous dress that was trimmed with red. The guests were a fun bunch and at least everyone seemed to take their turn on the dance floor. Congratulations to Sarah & Robert!
