Shannon & Justin's Wedding :: August 26th, 2006

Shannon and Justin's wedding took place on August 26th at the Heydenshore Pavillion in Whitby. Their wedding had a theme: colour, colour and more colour! The maid of honour and bridesmaids all wore different coloured dress in red, pink and orange and the groomsmen wore ties that matched each of the ladies. Shannon custom designed her own dress that included pink crinoline showing out the back. The ceremony was held outdoors under a tree that had a roost of Monarch Butterflies that were preparing for their migratory journey south. From what I know about butterflies, they are definitely a positive omen and represent a time of transition in life. This could not have been more fitting for the glowing couple! After the ceremony we were able to take Shannon and Justin down the road for a portrait session on a pier that had a lighthouse. It was there that they could loosen up and enjoy each other for the first time as newlyweds. The reception in the Pavillion was full of much laughter and dancing. Congratulations Shannon and Justin!

Katie & Robert's Wedding :: August 12th, 2006

On August 12th, I travelled to the 'Hamptons for Kate and Robert's wedding. Well, actually their wedding took place in Southampton, located on Lake Huron. The blue sky was wide open for their gorgeous ceremony that took place right on the beach. The groomsmen were decked out in flip flops, while the bridesmaid opted for bare feet for walking down the aisle. Robert got down on one knee to pledge personal vows to Katie and I am sure that there was barely a dry eye present to his words. During the ceremony they performed a sand ceremony and then ended it all off by releasing butterflies. Every guest at the wedding whispered a wish to the butterflies before they flew off. After the ceremony we took some fun portraits of the wedding party in the sand before heading to the Saugeen Ampitheatre for the family photographs. The reception was then held at the Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.

Katie and Robert are a great couple and I really enjoyed photographing their wedding. They were laidback and a lot of fun. Rarely do you find a bride willing to risk getting her wedding dress wet by hopping on her new hubby's back and prancing in the lake. Congratulations you two and I hope that you enjoy your Greek honeymoon!

Katerra Turns One Month!

It is hard to believe that little Katerra has only been with us for one month. It seems as though she has been a part of our lives forever. She is holding her head strong and already she is showing a lot of personality through her facial expressions. Thank you to everyone who has been asking about her - I promise that I will keep updating you with photographs of her!

Boudoir Photography

Yesterday I had a really fun shoot with a client! We did a sexy boudoir portrait shoot in her apartment. We had some fun with different outfits and locations within her environment. The final photographs will end up in a twenty page Asuka album to be given to her future husband as a wedding gift. Let's see if she can keep the photos a secret until her spring wedding date!

Due to the nature of the shoot, I am only going to post one photo from this session. Please let me know if you have any questions about having one of these sessions done of yourself!

Sonia & Jason's Wedding :: July 29th, 2006

Sonia and Jason's wedding took place at Heron Point Golf Club in Alberton on July 29th. Although there was rain in Toronto, the bad weather held off for us. Their ceremony was one of the best ceremonies that I have witnessed and included a lot of celtic traditions. Reverend Beth added her great personality to it, making it entertaining and allowing us to forget about the heat. The reception included some great speeches and a general golf theme. To get Sonia and Jason to kiss, guests had to putt a golf ball into the hole. At end of the night, the dance floor was full with young and old; everyone was having a great time.

Sonia and Jason are a great couple. They have a special bond together. When they look into each others' eyes, you can feel the words spoken between them without anything actually being said. The best part of the evening for me was when I looked outside to see them quietly sitting together on a bench watching all of their guests inside. They had snuck out after their first dance for this special moment to look back at it all and say "we really did it."

Sonia holds the adorable ring bearer's boutonniere.

Sonia and Jason's wedding ceremony included some celtic traditions, including handfasting.

The flower girl sneaks a peek at my camera.
Sonia's girls all wore fabulous dresses!

The final photo of the night was of the three of us - as per their request.

Katerra & Chanel Meet!

Katerra and Chanel met for the first time last week in Kensington Market. Little do the babies know the plans that their Moms have for them to be BFF (best friends forever!). Chanel was not too happy to be put down in the grass beside Katerra as she just wanted to be in her Mom's arms. Katerra just wanted to sleep and was not sure what the ruckus was all about. It is amazing what two months can do to a baby. In the above photo, Chanel is almost ten weeks old and Katerra is almost two weeks old.
