Pamela & Ryan's Wedding :: May 27th, 2006

Pamela & Ryan's wedding took place this past Saturday at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club in Milton. Rattlesnake is a gorgeous location for a wedding; from the long winding road when entering the Club, you do not know what to expect when you arrive at the end. The weather was perfect with blue skies and a slight breeze to cool us off on one of the hottest days of 2006 thus far. Pamela and Ryan are a fabulous couple and their wedding photographs really show the love and laughter of their big day. Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Jaime & Daniel's Wedding Album
I have just received Jaime & Daniel's wedding album from UPS and it is gorgeous! Their wedding took place last June and they wanted to have the album in time for their first anniversary celebration. The final book is a 30-sided 10" x 10" Hard Cover Book Bound Album.

Tin Bangs
Last week I photographed the band Tin Bangs to be used as promotional shots. The band just recently released their EP entitled Heavy-Handed Darling. We started in the studio to do some basic portraits and then headed to the Cherry Beach area where we had a great view of the city. Although it was a little chilly and a wee bit windy at the lake, the shoot was a lot of fun.

Welcome Baby Chanel Elise
I have known Robyne since she was about nine years old and running around the neighbourhood with my sister. They would stuff pillows in their shirts and pretend that they were sumo wrestlers. At night they would talk on walkie talkies through the wall that separated our home from Robyne's. Yesterday, Robyne gave birth to little Chanel Elise. She came out into the world with a wee cry and all ten toes and fingers. She is a strong little girl and has definitely already stolen her Dad's heart. Congratulations Robyne & Patrick!

Abby's Baby Shower
On Sunday we hosted a baby shower for my youngest sister Abby. It was a surprise for her and was she ever excited when she realized what was happening! She felt honoured that everyone travelled so far to come to celebrate her and her baby.

Kristy & Dave's Wedding :: May 6th
Kristy & Dave's wedding was a beautiful spring one that took place this past Saturday in Cambridge, Ontario. The weather was absolutely gorgeous - blue skies and barely a cloud in sight. The ceremony took place at St. John's-on-the-Hill United Church and the reception was held at the Holiday Inn. The wedding was entirely about celebrating with all of their close friends and family; everyone seemed to have had a hand in helping with the big day. Kristy and Dave, along with their families, are such wonderful people who instantly welcome you in as though you were always a close friend.

The Black Star Collection At Ryerson University: Highlights
Last night was the opening gala for the highlights from the Black Star Collection. This collection of photographs is internationally renowned and was a gift, from an anonymous donor, to Ryerson. It contains almost 300,000 black and white photographs of great historical and social significance - including images that capture the Civil Rights movement, early space exploration and portraits of everyone from Andy Warhol to Marshall McLuhan. I was honoured enough to be asked to photograph the opening gala for this exhibit that is taking place at BCE Place until May 27th. You can read more about the collection here.

Portraits of Ben
I photographed Ben this past week in the studio. We are working together to build a portfolio of portraits for him to begin modelling professionally. Recently he was photographed for Samsung and can be seen on billboards all over the city.

Olga & Peter's Wedding :: April 29th, 2006

Olga & Peter's wedding was absolutely gorgeous - from the flowers to the dresses to the people - everything involved in the day was perfect! The wedding was a Greek wedding that involved a lot of dancing. It made me wish that I was Greek! Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Manor on Weston Road. There was a great sense of community: with lots of children running around, every adult acted as a parent to all of them whether it be playing with the kids or holding the babies; it was all so wonderful. I feel honoured that I was chosen to photograph such a great event for such a fantastic couple.
Here are some of my favourites from the day:
